SANDERSONasked the Minister of Labour whether he is aware that there are cases of ex-service men who are at present in training under the disabled ex-service men's scheme, such 2585W training having been granted from the 30th November, 1921 to the 29th May, 1923, who have now been informed that such period of training is to be curtailed by three months; and whether, in view of the fact that the training was promised for the full period of 78 weeks, and that these last three months being spent in the practical application of the knowledge acquired are very vital to the training, he will see that the necessary steps are taken to allow of the completion of the full period of 78 weeks' training?
§ Sir M. BARLOWI understand that the question relates to certain men who are receiving training in watch and clock repairing at the Government Instructional Factory, Pendleton, Manchester, and I would refer the hon. Member to the reply to a similar question which I gave to the, hon. Member for Motherwell on the 7th March, a copy of which I have sent him. As there explained, the course of training has not been shortened, but the last six months are given in an employer's workshop instead of a training centre.
