§ Mr. DARBISHIREasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Overseas Trade Department if, in view of the fact that the, Inchcape Committee has recommended the cessation of the activities of his Department in India, he will again consider the abolition of the Department altogether?
§ Viscount WOLMERI think that the hon. Member is under a misapprehension. So far as I am aware, the Inch-cape Committee has not made any such recommendation. The work of the representatives of the Department of Overseas Trade in India is entirely outside the scope of the Committee's inquiry.
