§ Lieut.-Colonel LANE-FOX:Contributions to the Miners' Welfare Fund in respect of the 6 months ended 31st December, 1920, amounted to £452,729, and in respect of the year 1921 to £675,711. The contributions for the year 1922 are now being collected. In regard to the second part of the question, no allocations were made by the Miners' Welfare Committee before February, 1922. The total amount allocated, up to 31st December, 1922, in respect of local welfare schemes in the districts was £509,440. I understand that the Miners' Welfare Committee will shortly be issuing a Report upon their work up to the end of last year.
