§ Mr. LLOYDasked the President of the Board of Education whether, pending the Report of the Departmental Committee which is considering the position of the training colleges established by local authorities, the Government. will make temporary grants to enable the local authorities to complete their contracts to provide a two years' course for those students who entered college last autumn, and to prevent an immediate closure of certain training colleges?
Mr. WOOD:As I have already intimated, in reply to numerous questions in this House, I cannot commit myself to any course of action in advance of the recommendations of the Departmental Committee.
