§ Sir A. HOLBROOKasked the Postmaster-General whether the new Post Office buildings at Basingstoke, for which plans were passed and a site secured some years ago, may now be proceeded with as an unemployment relief work of necessity, seeing that the buildings now in use are inadequate for the accommodation required?
Mr. CHAMBERLAIN:The plans of the new head Post Office at Basingstoke are settled, and the necessary provision is being made in the Estimates for 1923–24, so that the work may be started as soon as Parliamentary sanction is given.
