CROOKasked the President of the Board of Education whether he is now prepared to reconsider the refusal of the Board to allow as recognised service for the purposes of superannuation and salary the service of women teachers who left school for any of the auxiliary branches of war service with the permission of their authorities before the issue of Circular 1003 in June, 1917?
§ Mr. EDWARD WOODAs far as superannuation is concerned, war service rendered by women teachers before the date in question is accepted as recognised service for the purposes of the School Teachers (Superannuation) Act, 1918, subject to the conditions set out in the Rules made under that Act. With regard to the recognition for grant of salary expenditure, I may refer the hon. Member to Circular 1227, a copy of which I am sending him.
