Mr. CHAMBERLAINThis man was relieved in the casual ward. On the day before he left Gainsborough he was set to work either at wood chopping or at cleaning. He was not set to work on the day of his leaving and was given a mid-day meal on discharge. The spot at which he was found dead is about 10 miles from Gainsborough workhouse, and about seven from the nearest casual ward in the direction in which he was going.
