HC Deb 02 August 1923 vol 167 c1746W
Captain BOWYER

asked the Home Secretary whether he is aware that outside the Metropolitan police force area a policeman who summons a doctor to a street accident is responsible for paying the doctor's fees if, as sometimes happens, the patient will not pay; and will he secure that in future in such cases any charge incurred shall be borne by the police fund, as in the Metropolitan police force area?

Mr. BRIDGEMAN

If such a rule exist in any force, I do not think it can be general. If my hon. and gallant Friend will inform me of any case where difficulty has occurred, I shall be happy to make inquiry.
