HC Deb 02 August 1923 vol 167 cc1747-8W
Mr. C. WILSON

asked the Home Secretary whether he has considered the Report on the grinding of metals and cleaning of castings; and whether he proposes to adopt the recommendations contained in the Report?

Mr. BRIDGEMAN

The action to be taken on this Report, which makes a number of important and detailed recommendations, has been receiving careful consideration. No decision has yet been reached, but it is clear that, in order to deal effectively with the conditions described in the Report, it will be necessary to strengthen and extend the existing Regulations, and proposals far this purpose will be issued as soon as practicable. They will, of course, be published in the first instance in draft, in accordance with the procedure prescribed in the Act, so as to give the interests affected the opportunity of expressing their views on the various proposals.
