HC Deb 02 August 1923 vol 167 c1750W
Mr. MIDDLETON

asked the Minister of Labour whether his Department makes it a necessary condition that any person nominated to serve on a court of referees must be a member of an association of insured contributors?

Sir M. BARLOW

Experience of the administration of the Unemployment Insurance Acts has shown that it is desirable that, in general, persons appointed to serve on the panels of the courts of referees should be representatives of associations of employers and employed in the insured trades.
