§ Sir W. BULLasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer (1) whether he is aware that negotiations are on foot for the sale of the open space known as Arbour Square, Stepney; if any steps can be taken to prevent one of the few open spaces in the East End from being built on;
(2) whether his attention has been called to the fact that the gardens in front of Euston Station are advertised for sale as a building site; and if he can suggest any way by which this open space can be saved for the people of London?
§ Mr. NEVILLE CHAMBERLAINI have no authority to intervene, but I understand that the London County Council, or the Metropolitan borough councils concerned, have the power, if they think fit to exercise it, to acquire the lands referred to by agreement.
