HC Deb 26 April 1923 vol 163 c691W
Mr. GUEST

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War what arrangements, if any, were made for the absorption into civilian clerical employment in his Department of men demobilised from His Majesty's forces (clerical home-service units) from 1918 to October 1920?

Lieut.-Colonel GUINNESS

No special arrangements have been made in favour of men belonging to clerical home-service units. As regards ex-service men in general, and disabled ex-service men in particular, the War Office has always fully complied with the letter and spirit of the instructions of His Majesty's Government, issued through the Treasury, regarding the preferential treatment of these men.
