HC Deb 23 April 1923 vol 163 c68W
Mr. C. ROBERTS

asked the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies whether his attention has been drawn to the public expression of disappointment in Southern Rhodesia at the delay in granting the promised constitution, and the suggestion that His Majesty's Government should name the day for the issue of the letters patent; and whether the Secretary of State will consider the advisability of making an early and definite pronouncement upon the subject?

Mr. ORMSBY-GORE

The reply to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. As regards the second part, His Majesty's Government hope to be able to make a definite announcement at an early date.
