HC Deb 23 April 1923 vol 163 c54W
Commander BELLAIRS

asked the Postmaster-General whether he will give the figures showing the revenue from postal services as distinct from telegraphs and telephones for the period 1st June, 1921, to 1st April, 1922, when the increased postal charges were in force, with the period 1st June, 1922, to 1st April, 1923, when the reduced postal charges were in force?

Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKS

The following are the figures:

£
1st June, 1921, to 31st March, 1922 32,700,000
1st June, 1922, to 31st March, 1923 27,700,000
The Postal Revenue obtained from Southern Ireland during the earlier period is excluded in order to make the figures comparable.
