HC Deb 23 April 1923 vol 163 cc68-9W
Mr. MIDDLETON

asked the Postmaster-General (1) whether he will furnish a Return showing the London post offices where a woman is in charge and giving the rank of such officers in charge and length of Post Office service, their present salary and bonus, the number of staff under their control, and the amount of the annual turnover at each office;

(2) whether he will furnish a Return showing the provincial post offices where a woman is in charge and giving the rank of such officers in charge and length of Post Office service, their present salary and bonus, the number of staff under their control, and the amount of the annual turnover at each office?

Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKS

The information asked for is not readily available, and considerable time, labour, and expense would be involved in collecting it, the expenditure of which would not, I think, be justified. If the hon. Member will mention any particular offices he may have in mind, I will be glad to supply him with particulars regarding these offices.
