§ Mr. GAVAN DUFFYasked the Minister of Health, if he will call for a report upon the reason why no effort has been made to remedy the condition of things in connection with the housing of the working class at Cleator Moor, and ascertain why the medical officer of health has not made the house-to-house inspections required under the various Acts?
Mr. CHAMBERLAINThe latest report in my possession is for the year 1921, and this shows that a number of inspections were made and that the Council were able by informal action to secure the repair of a number of defective houses. On receipt of the Annual Report of the Medical Officer of Health for the year 1922, I will consider in the light of the facts contained therein, what action, if any, is necessary.
