HC Deb 23 April 1923 vol 163 c58W
Mr. HANNON

asked the President of the Board of Trade the relation, if any, subsisting between the Government and the British Trade Corporation; and whether the Treasury has keen involved in any loss by the successive writing down of the capital of this bank?

Major BOYD-CARPENTER

Apart from the grant of a Charter, the British Trade Corporation is a purely private institution. His Majesty's Government do not hold any interest in the Corporation, and the answer to the last part of the question is, therefore, in the negative.
