§ Mr. WEBBasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether the item of £1,119,000 in the Education Estimates for grants to universities and university colleges, which is the same amount as in the pre ceding year, is intended to cover the largely-increased grants in contemplation for the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge; and, if so, whether it is to be understood that a further restriction of the grants to other universities and colleges may be expected?
