§ Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKSI am not yet in a position to state the exact revenue from telegrams for the last financial year, but the estimated amount is £5,500,000. The revenue from telegrams in 1913–14 was £3,071,000. The figures for the two years are not strictly comparable, as the revenue from inland telegrams originating in the Irish Free State are not included in the 1922–23 Estimate.
