HC Deb 17 April 1923 vol 162 cc1893-4W
Lieut.-Colonel NALL

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether a subsidy of £40 per vehicle is offered for motor wagons of a certain type; whether this is payable annually and, if so, for how many years in respect of the same vehicle; what is the maximum expenditure involved; and on what Vote is it borne in the Estimates for the current year?

Lieut.-Colonel GUINNESS

£40 per lorry per annum will be paid in half yearly instalments. The period of enrolment of any one vehicle will depend on its condition and on other circumstances, but it is not likely to exceed two years. The maximum annual cost of the scheme is estimated at £40,000. The sum provided this year on Head VI B is £5,000.
