HC Deb 17 April 1923 vol 162 c1894W
Mr. G. SPENCER

asked the Minister of Pensions how many of the staff at present engaged in the Nottingham region he proposes to transfer to the Birmingham region; when he hopes to effect such transfer; and whether he proposes to send some officials to any other region?

Major TRYON

It is not possible to state at the moment how many members of the existing staff employed in the Regional Headquarters at Nottingham will be transferred to Birmingham, but I hope to be in a position to offer employment either in Birmingham or in some other part of the Ministry to every competent officer displaced at Nottingham in consequence of the amalgamation of the East and West Midlands Regions. The amalgamation will be effected gradually and transfers will follow the same course.
