§ Mr. DUFFYasked the Secretary for Mines whether, in connection with the re-organisation of the mining inspectorate in the Northern Area caused by the death of the late Mr. J. R. R. Wilson, he will now consider the advisability of restoring to the iron-ore mining districts of West Cumberland an inspector with practical knowledge and experience of those mines such as they had for nearly a quarter of a century, 1322W in view of the absence from the present inspectorate of anyone with intimate personal knowledge of these mines?
§ Lieut.-Colonel LANE-FOXThe death of Mr. Wilson, while it has deprived us of a very valuable officer, does not alter the facts stated in my reply to the hon. Member on 19th February, to which, I am afraid, I have nothing to add.
