HC Deb 12 April 1923 vol 162 c1317W
Mr. SHINWELL

asked the Minister of Pensions whether he is aware that a grant recommended by the Glasgow War Pensions Committee of £120 to Mr. John Dickson, 1312, Shettleston Road, Glasgow, to enable him to develop his business has been refused by the chief area officer; whether it was reported to the committee that Mr. Dickson could have successfully improved his business by the introduction of certain machinery which he proposed to purchase; and whether he will make inquiries into the matter with a view to the committee's recommendation being given effect to?

Major TRYON

I understand that the War Pensions Committee did not recommend in favour of the application. I am, however, having further inquiries made and will write to the hon. Member.
