HC Deb 12 April 1923 vol 162 c1328W
Mr. D. HERBERT

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he intends to act in accordance with the decision of the House of Lords in the case of Sutton v. The Attorney-General, and to recognise that the civil pay payable to civil servants while on active service in the late War includes the bonus current during the term of active service; and whether it is proposed to refund to such men who were single or widowers the bonus which was withheld from them while they were on active service?

Major BOYD-CARPENTER
