§ Dr. MACNAMARAThe staff at Employment Exchanges depends so largely on the volume of unemployment that it is not possible to give a reliable average figure of cost. For the Exchanges mentioned the present weekly cost of staff and premises, which it should be noted covers a very high level of unemployment, are, approximately, as follow:
£ Westminster—Men's Department 140 Westminster Women's Department 52 Great Marlborough Street 112 About 25 per cent. should be added to these figures for headquarters and other common expenses.
