§ Mr. TILLETTasked the Home Secretary whether he will give consideration to the question of amending the law with regard to appeals from decisions of magistrates; and, in view of the fact that when the question involved is one of imprisonment or trifling fines, the expense of such appeals at present is anything up to £80, will he, at an early date, introduce a Bill to remedy the anomaly?
§ Sir J. BAIRDI do not know how tile costs involved in an appeal to Quarter Sessions could be limited by Statute any more than the costs of other legal proceedings, in which counsel are employed, and my right hon. Friend does not see his way to initiate legislation on the subject.
