§ Mr. R. McNEILLasked the Minister of Labour if he is aware that officers and men who served in the Army during the War, and who would otherwise be eligible for grant for training assistance, are disqualified by reason of their 87W having served since demobilisation in the Auxiliary Division of the Royal Irish Constabulary; and, having regard to the fact that these men receive no pension or compensation on the disbandment of the Royal Irish Constabulary, and find themselves, in some cases, without resources and without prospect of being able to earn a livelihood owing to their service in the forces of the Crown during and since the War, he will so alter the regulation governing the grant for training assistance as to include the men referred to in its benefit?

§ Sir M. BARLOWThe last date for receiving applications under the training grants scheme of the Appointments Department was 30th June, 1920. The last date for applications under the industrial training scheme was 30th September, 1921, except for men recently demobilised or still under treatment. Officers and men who served in the Auxiliary Division of the Royal Irish Constabulary were not thereby debarred from benefiting under the above schemes, provided that they made applications before the last date.
