§ Sir J. GREIGasked the Prime Minister whether the Committee recently appointed by the Lord Chancellor to inquire into the inequalities in the Law as between men and women is confined to matters relating to the Criminal Law; and, if so, whether he will consider the advisability of extending the inquiry so as to comprise also matters relating to the Civil Law?
§ Sir E. POLLOCKI have been asked to reply. The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. It would not be advisable to extend the present inquiry as suggested, as an inquiry with so wide a scope would, necessarily, be prolonged.
