HC Deb 21 March 1922 vol 152 cc266-7W
Sir H. BRITTAIN

asked the Secretary of State for War whether his attention has been called to the United States Army Appropriation Bill; and whether plans are now under consideration by those responsible for the armies of the Allies to take over any necessary section of the occupied area in the case of an American evacuation?

Sir L. WORTHINGTON-EVANS

The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. In regard to the second part, if and when the American Government should decide to withdraw the remainder of their troops from the occupied area, arrangements would be made to meet the situation that would then arise.
