§ Dr. MACNAMARAAs regards wages, I am afraid I have not sufficient information to enable mc to institute an exact comparison. And even if this were not so the far greater volume of unemployment to-day than in November, 1918, would, as regards actual earnings, make the comparison unreliable. As regards the cost of living index figure, it was about 120 per cent. above pre-War in November, 1918, and was, on 1st February, 88 per cent. above pre-War. The figure for let March will be published on Friday next.
