§ Colonel P. WILLIAMSasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer the total number of clubs registered in England and Wales; how many of these supply intoxicants all the year round; how many only seasonally; and how many do not supply intoxicating liquor at all?
§ Mr. SHORTTI have been asked to reply to this question. The number of clubs registered under the Licensing Acts in England and Wales on 1st January, 1921, was 9,924. I have no information as to the other parts of the question, but, 1103W as clubs do not require to be registered unless they supply intoxicating liquor, it is to be presumed that there are few, if any, registered clubs which do not supply it.
