§ Sir C. YATEasked the Secretary of State for India what steps have been taken by the Government of India to give effect to the recommendations of the Esher Committee in paragraph 10, Part 1093W V., Section 1 of their Report, regarding the provision of house accommodation at reasonable rates for officers of the Army in India.
§ Mr. MONTAGUThe provision of house accommodation is being taken in hand, as far as the financial position permits, at stations where there is a definite shortage. The Esher Committee's recommendation as to maxima for the assessment of rent has been accepted.
