§ Sir J. BAIRDThe hon. and gallant Member will find particulars of these pensions, now five in number, of which two1864W cease on the death of the present holders, in the annual Finance Accounts (see Finance Accounts, 1920–21, page 44). These payments can only be commuted with the assent of the parties concerned, and in certain cases with the assent of a court. It is the general policy of the Treasury to commute where satisfactory conditions can be agreed.
