§ Sir H. BRITTAINasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he can state approximately the revenue from stamps upon cheques; and whether, seeing that the Post Office has been able to reduce postal rates, he can see his way to forecast a reduction in the former case also?
§ Sir J. BAIRDThe revenue from stamps on cheques was, approximately, £2,850,000 for the financial year ended on the 31st March, 1922. With regard to the last part of the question, I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply which my right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer gave on the 22nd instant to a question by the hon. Member for Lincoln (Mr. Alfred T. Davies).
