§ Sir L. WORTHINGTON-EVANSAs I have previously stated, the question of granting a medal for military service at home during the War has been already most carefully considered and negatived. With regard to other forms of recognition, the circumstance of not serving overseas naturally did not disqualify any officers or soldiers who rendered meritorious service during the War from receiving such appropriate honours and rewards as they might have received for analogous good service in time of peace.
