M'Dermott, of Cornway Durham, who was a miner and spare-time school caretaker with the assistance of his family, has had his claim for unemployment benefit turned down by the court of referees; and, seeing that this man has been off work over 17 weeks since the colliery was laid idle, and that he was maintained, not by the salary as school caretaker, hut, by the wages earned as a miner, will he inquire into his case?
