Captain TERRELLasked the Minister of Agriculture whether his attention has been drawn to the export trade in aged horses from Weymouth; and whether such horses have been and are being regularly inspected by the inspectors appointed by the Ministry for the purpose?
Sir A. BOSCAWENThe Ministry is not aware of the existence of any trade in aged horses from Weymouth to the Continent. Any such horses would have to be examined under the provisions of the Diseases of Anmals Act, 1910, and the Exportation of Horses Act, 1914. Horses shipped from Weymouth to the Channel Islands, however, are not required to he examined by Inspectors of the Ministry.
