§ Sir L. WORTHINGTON - EVANSOfficers belonging to Southern Irish regiments which may be disbanded will be considered for transfer to other regiments. They will not be penalised because they happen to belong to regi- 1735W ments which are being disbanded. There will be a large reduction in the number of officers in the Army; the reduction will be spread over the whole Army, and I hope to be able to announce the general nature of the scheme of reduction and the provision made for officers affected by it shortly.
