HC Deb 09 February 1922 vol 150 c330W
Mr. DOYLE

asked the Prime Minister what steps are being taken to reconcile the conflicting interests of the Turks and Greeks in Asia Minor; whether the Greek Government has applied for a loan to this country; and what was the response?

The PRIME MINISTER

His Majesty's Government hope shortly to discuss in Paris with their Allies the whole question of the restoration of peace in Asia Minor. I understand that the Greek Government is in negotiation for a loan in the London Market, but that no contract has yet been entered into. The Greek Government has also made application to the Advisory Committee under the Trade Facilities Act for a loan with a British Government guarantee for purposes of expenditure in the United Kingdom. The application is being considered by the Committee.
