§ Major Viscount SANDONasked the Minister of Labour whether he will make urgent representations to the various organisations concerned in war memorial schemes in London and elsewhere to start work on them forthwith, with a view to creating employment this winter, as in many cases the schemes are approved and all the plans settled without work having commenced?
§ Sir M. BARLOWI am fully in sympathy with this suggestion, and if the Noble Lord will be good enough to communicate with me privately, I shall be glad to consider what steps can be taken to bring the matter specially to the notice of the organisations concerned.
