§ Sir A. HOLBROOKasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he is aware of the widespread dissatisfaction existing amongst the temporary Civil Service staffs owing to the index figure on which pay is calculated on the sliding-scale scheme having been calculated on the average of six months prior to the agreement, instead of taking the figure as it stood when the negotiations took place; and whether this can be adjusted?
