§ Viscount SANDONasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he is aware that at a recent vacancy for a tax collector in the Condover Division of Salop an ex-service man, though summoned to attend before the Commissioners of Taxes on the occasion of the selection of a candidate, was never interviewed; whether preference for ex-service men is the policy of His Majesty's Government in all such appointments; and whether, seeing that that policy was not carried out in this instance, he will have the matter further investigated?
