§ Mr. MARCHasked the Minister of Labour, as representing the Ministry of Health, whether his attention has been called to the number of undertakings, mainly municipal, which have seceded from Whitley Councils; and whether he intends taking any steps to prevent the breaking up of this industrial machinery?
§ Sir M. BARLOWI am not aware that secessions by individual undertakings from Whitley Councils of the character indicated have taken place except in the cases of the Council for Local Authorities' Administrative, Technical and Clerical Services, which, though not formally dissolved, has not met since February of last year, and the Council for Local Authorities' Non - Trading Services (Manual Workers). In the latter case arrangements have been made for a deputation from the council to be received at the Ministry of Labour on Thursday next for the purpose of discussing the situation.
