CHAMBERLAINThis proposal was considered at the suggestion of the Minister of Labour in 1920, and the then Postmaster-General decided that it was inexpedient to depart from the established policy that the text of the telephone directory should be confined to its primary object of providing in the clearest manner possible the information required by users of the telephone and the staff of telephone exchanges. With this decision I concur.
