§ Mr. ORMSBY-GOREUnder the Government scheme for the grant of free passages to ex-service men and women and their dependants, which was closed to new applications on the 31st December, 1921, 81,521 persons have proceeded overseas up to the 30th November, 1922. Generally, with regard to the work of the Overseas Settlement Committee, I would refer my hon. Friend to the Annual Reports of the Committee for 1919 (Cmd. 573), 1920 (Cmd. 1134), and 1921 (Cmd. 1580). For information regarding the progress of schemes under the Empire Settlement Act of 1922, I invite his attention to my reply of the 30th November.
