§ Major TRYONI assume that the hon. Member refers to grants which have been withdrawn because the awards were not covered by the regulations of the Special Grants Committee. A memorandum on this point was issued in August last, Command Paper 1748. It is impossible to state the exact number or the value of the grants so withdrawn without an undue amount of labour; but the hon. Member should understand that the sole ground for the withdrawal was that the grants were irregular.
