£ Gross Compensation 791,962 Less receipts from salvage of carcases 151,085 Net 640,877 Swine Fever.—The compensation paid during the financial year 1921–22 for pigs slaughtered amounted to £2,531, which formed part of the Ministry's total expenditure in connection with swine fever (including administration, slaughter and burial, and disinfection of premises, etc.) of £45,592. Of this latter amount, £6,592 fell to be defrayed from the Local Taxation Accounts (England and Scotland).
