§ Mr. FOOTasked the Home Secretary whether there are any statistics available showing the number of debtor prisoners sent to prison since the 31st March last?
§ Mr. BRIDGEMANThe number of debtor prisoners received in prison in October was 1,222. A considerable amount of labour is necessary in order to get out figures of this description from 1821W the returns received at the Home Office, and I hope the hon. Member will be satisfied with the figures I have given.
