It will be seen, however, from the details published in the Annual Statements of Trade of the United Kingdom that the principal countries from which the imported machinery was consigned were the United States of America, Germany, France, and Switzerland, and that the chief countries to which the exports were consigned were British India, France, Japan, the United States of America, and China.
