§ Major BOYD-CARPENTERAs the hon. and gallant Member is aware, the late Government undertake to provide an annual sum not exceeding £200,000 towards the deficits incurred by local authorities in dealing with the clearance of slum areas and the provision of the necessary rehousing. It is the intention of the Government to continue this provision, and a number of local authorities have schemes in progress or in preparation.
